Liivin kaava ja ohje / Reversible vest pattern and tutorial (free)

I made a pattern and tutorial for a small vest and thought I'd share it here with all of you. As you can see, the design is very simple, but you can always add pockets, ribbons etc. to it.

The vest size is for 3- to 4-year-olds and the shape is cropped. For the one I sewed I used recycled cotton fabrics.

Some printers sometimes scale the images automatically, so make sure that you print the patterns out in 100 % size.

Here's the link to the pattern and instructions (pdf).

Happy sewing!

Hi. I'm just learning to sew. Thank you for sharing this. Is the idea to print these out, tape them together, and to then cut a single piece of fabric for the inner lining and a single piece of fabric for the outer fabric? Then sew together and turn inside out through the turn hole? Thanks and apologies for not knowing.

Hi,

You will need to print out the pattern only once. Cut it out, then place it on a folded fabric. The fold being the center line in the back. Do the same thing with the outer fabric as well as the lining.

You will find instructions in the same folder. Unfortunately it's not possible to turn a vest inside out, if you sew the pieces together all around and just leave a turning hole. I've tried to explain how to do it in the instructions.

I hope you'll succeed in making this! Happy sewing!
